Biography .Rose Candy
One of my first gallery visits in Toronto was the Jackson Pollock Gallery .This gallery was near Ed Mirvishes Store on Bathurst Street. The Pollock Gallery was an exhibition of contemporary art. The other gallery was when I started college and that was The Ontario Art Gallery . They had The Group of Seven on exhibit there. The Group of Seven now have a home base at the McMichael Gallery in Kleinburg. Both galleries left an unforgettable impression of the beautiful world of painting. The Royal Ontario Museum was my next visit . Truly an amazing building holding the most beautiful historical works of art from around the world. The Gardenier Museum is the home of ceramic artists and has an amazing historical porcelain exhibit. They are across from the ROM on University Ave. Thank you to the artist who lived up the street . He was an older gentleman who stopped by my mom’s house and we would talk about his latest painting. He worked in oils .
In Los Angeles..the Hammer Museum and LACMA are places that I visit along with the Getty . They also exhibit contemporary art and paintings of the Masters. Plein Air paintings of the truly breathtaking California Coast and the Group of Seven are painters of the beautiful outdoor landscapes of Canada. Both Groups are amazing. All inspirational .
You will see in my bio that I have taught as an artist in clay mostly and occasionally in painting .

2025 December. Beautiful blue glaze has been developed .
2026 January is off to a change in how my clay studio functions and introducing a new clay body .
2026 February to April has been throwing vases ..they are in the store this spring . Research and testing of an overglaze for my bowls. It is a process of testing black underglazes and overglazes. For more information contact me.
